How is the cover of a magazine significant? It’s just a bunch of pictures and words isn’t it? No, it isn't. A magazine cover has pictures, but the pictures describe it. If the picture is of a woman in bright clothing, you’d expect it to be a happy and bright magazine. If it’s a woman doing makeup or showing a makeup product you will know that the rest of the magazine will most likely be about different makeup products. If it’s a guy magazine it may show a type of clothing or cologne, they use. Or it may not be a person on the cover, it could be a fast-beautiful car the grabs a guy's attention. The more you then investigate it the more you see that each page next has something to do with cars which intrigues the guys reading it.  

The first magazine I am going to describe will be called The Oprah Magazine. On any Orpah magazine you see she will always be on the front of the magazine. If you saw last year's magazine she was not on the cover only because she put Brianna Taylor on the front because of her wrongful death and wanted to speak out for her in a way On the cover of this magazine she had her golden white dog Sadie. The background was full of nature, bright green grass, with tall trees in the back along with the dog. She is smiling which shows she is happy and filled with joy. The orange shirt she is wearing matches the O for Orpah in the background. When you open the rest of the magazine the pages show advertisements.  

The second magazine I will be doing is called Rolling Stone. On the cover of the magazine Lil baby is on it the words covering it a are black and bold. The heading Rolling Stone is bright pink to emphasize it. The way Lil baby is standing has the camera angle low. Meaning the camera angle is looking up to him. The camera is down low but pointed up to give an effect. He seems to be as if he was coming into the light in a way. On the cover there is a headline about Trump plotting against America. It shows a picture of a burnt down building from protests from before. Theirs graffiti on the bricks of the charred remains. It emphasizes the problems going on with politics and protests.  The graffiti on the wall describe the hate people feel towards the police. It explains how a shotting happened where two black men died by cops during protests.  

Southern Living describes the entire magazine of baking. There is a delicious cake on the front cover placed on a table. The words on the magazine are all white with a fall like background. The colors aren’t bright they seem fall like and old fashioned. Some words are black whil the main background is white which points on the bold words. When looking at the cover you’re able to tell that the magazine is going to be about foods being made and you're right. The next several pages deal with other chefs, recipes to make, or images and recipes of chicken, bread rolls, and deserts which make the reader hungry and want to make those things in the magazine. 

Men’s Journal shows fast cars like a Ferrari or other cars that would draw a guy to read about it. The words are blue white and yellow. Bolded along with numbers. Patrick Demsey aka “McDreamy” is the man celebrity modeling. He shows fashion for guys and people know who he is. People are intrigued by him. The next pages show Gordan Ramsey which people know and love. Other pages show more cars or cooking with Ramsey or how man goes into the wild. These things capture the guys attention because guys magazine is longer and more masculine.  

Vogue is the last magazine. Now, by the title you can easily tell that it’ll take about those expensive brands and about makeup. And yes, you’re correct it talks about makeup and Chanel, Prauda and more. There’s a woman on the cover in designer clothing. The pictures inside the magazine is about clothes, makeup, fashion and things like Louis Vuitton. The more you read through the more you can tell they like Vogue as If it was their bible.  

Each magazine has a different meaning. Some are about fashion, food, cars, politics, problems in the world, and more. Each cover of a magazine can show you what you will read in the rest of the pages. A girl who wants to read about fashion won’t pick a magazine with a bunch of fast cars on it. She’ll pick the one with the makeup and the celebrities with beautiful fashion choices. Each magazine cover explains what will be inside the magazine.
